South African Robyn de Groot won the elite women’s race at the Bike Giro that finished in the Hochschwarzwald area in Germany yesterday.
De Groot completed the four mountain bike stages in 9:11:25, just under nine minutes ahead of Germany’s Sabine Spitz.
Australian Renata Bucher placed third.
The elite men’s race was won by Germany’s Julian Schelb, with fellow countrymen Simon Stiebjahn second and Sascha Weber third.
South African Sipho Madolo placed 49th.
