Belgian professional Victor Campenaerts will join Team Dimension Data next year, the outfit announced today.
The time-trial specialist, who broke the hour record in April, will move from Lotto Soudal to the African team, which will rebrand to Team NTT from the start of next season.
“I’m really looking forward to my new adventure with Team NTT,” said Campenaerts, 27.

“The contact that I had with the team earlier on [in the year] was immediately really positive – with riders at first, then with some of the staff and later on directly with [team principal] Douglas Ryder.”
Campenaerts, who won the time-trials at last year’s European Road Champs and Belgium’s National Road Champs, added that the synergies were very positive for both parties and they did not need to discuss much before agreeing to work together.
“I had two super-good years with Lotto Soudal. It was a really positive experience and it was really difficult to leave the team, but I’m really looking forward to this new challenge.
“I’m sure that this is a step forward in my career.”
Ryder said welcoming Campenaerts into their team was very exciting.
“His pedigree is exceptional and, in particular, to have someone join us with his time-trialling ability is a huge boost for the whole team.
“Victor has huge ambitions for next year. We believe through our partners and how we use technology we will be able to achieve great things together.
“Next year is a big year, which of course includes the Olympic Games in Tokyo as a major highlight for many riders.
“Our title sponsor has its roots in Japan and so to prospectively have Victor challenging for a medal there will be a fantastic moment for us.”
