South African Matt Beers, 25, will ride as stagiaire for UAE Team Emirates for the rest of the 2019 season, it was announced this morning.
The Team NAD rider, who has won the Mpumalanga Tour and Lowveld Tour, was released from his contract as of today.
“Matt Beers has taken an interest in road cycling after winning all the road tours that the team participated in,” said the Team NAD statement.
“It has been a great privilege to be part of Matt’s journey and to watch him grow from strength to strength and achieve brilliant results over the past year and a half under the guidance and support of Team NAD.”
Wessel Botha and Nico Bell will remain in the team for the remainder of the year.
