American Chloe Dygert won the elite women’s individual time-trial at the UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire, England, today.
The Netherlands’ Anna van der Breggen placed second, with fellow countrywoman Annemiek van Vleuten third.
Fourth place went to American Amber Neben, while German Lisa Klein placed fifth.
“I’m disappointed that I didn’t have a good day today. The course suited me very well, so I can’t say it was the course, it’s just not my day. I could also see afterwards from my power output that I can do better,” said Van Vleuten.
“Chloe showed she was on a super day. But it gives me a little bit of hope for next year, because I didn’t have a good day. If I’d have been on a good day and then almost got beaten by two minutes then I’d have been very disappointed.”
