Maroesjka Matthee is the only elite woman to have received Western Province track cycling colours for 2019, as announced by the association recently.
The Capetonian won the women’s road race at the African Games at the end of August, as well as the King of the Kermesse in July.
She also claimed numerous victories at this year’s national track champs.
The elite men who were awarded colours include Jean Smith, Reinhardt Marais, Bernard Esterhuizen and Carl Bonthuys.
