South African Josh van Wyk was crowned the 25-mile winner at the Paarl Boxing Day track event at Faure Street Stadium today.
Van Wyk, who also won the elimination, broke Gary Beneke’s record of 54:23 which was set in 1985.
Second place was awarded to Graeme Ockhuis, while Jonas Rickaert claimed third.
Fourth and fifth went to Nolan Hoffman and Matthew Fortuin respectively.
