South Africa’s Ryan Gibbons is aiming for another strong performance at this year’s Tour Down Under, which starts in Tanunda, Australia, on January 21.
The 25-year-old sprinter claimed two top-10 stage finishes last year and finished 11th overall in the six-stage road race.
“I’m thoroughly looking forward to kicking off the season here in Australia,” said Gibbons.
“After a promising performance last year and another season of experience I’m excited to see what we can achieve in 2020.”

NTT Pro Cycling’s sprint hopes will also rest upon the shoulders of Italian Giacomo Nizzolo, who has two top-10 finishes in the 2016 edition.
Two of the team’s new riders, Samuele Battistella and Dylan Sunderland, are making their debut and will look to play a supporting role.
The team’s head sports director, Lars Michaelsen, said they were excited to be starting the 2020 season and were looking forward to seeing their new jersey in race action.
“We have been preparing well and will confront the Tour Down Under with eagerness, but like every year it’s with an unknown factor of where we actually are compared to our opponents,” said Michaelsen.
“The total of six stages will normally see four sprint finishes and here we will support our two fast riders, Gibbons and Nizzolo.”
Michaelsen said, after the first two stages, they should have a better idea which riders had the legs for the uphill finishes in Paracombe and on Willunga Hill and support them.
