The 20-year-old, who placed third overall amongst the elite women, said the race was “really really hard”, especially in the hot weather conditions.
“But it was a nice course that suited me well and I’m incredibly happy with my result.
“Winning U23 was a goal for me and I’m so happy to pull it off. And to have finished on the elite podium behind such talented riders is just amazing and I’m overwhelmed.”
Janse van Rensburg said personally it was good to have achieved a goal she had set for herself and to see all the hard work paying off.
“I think the result is definitely something that will influence my career positively going forward and another stepping stone in the right direction.”
Next, she will line up in the 104km road race on Saturday.
“My goals for the road race will be to ride a positive and aggressive race and just give it my all.
“It’s a totally different ball game than the TT so I don’t really know what to expect, but it’s definitely going to be very hard racing with such a strong field.
“At least I know my legs are feeling good. Now I just need to ride clever.”
