Mathieu van der Poel will miss Saturday’s Omloop Het Nieuwsblad due to sickness, as announced by his team today.
The 25-year-old Alpecin-Fenix rider has the flue and because of the high fever starting Wednesday night, he will not be able to race.
Van der Poel will be replaced by Floris De Tier.
De Tier won the King of the Mountains-jersey at Ruta del Sol last week.
