Cycling SA cancels all races until after Easter

March 16, 2020, 1:53 pm By In the Bunch

All events and meetings at national, provincial, regional and club level have been suspended until after the Easter weekend (April 14), Cycling SA announced today.

This includes the postponement of the national track champs, as well as MTB and BMX cup events.

This follows the government’s announcement last night of drastic measures to help halt the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

It was announced that any gathering of more than 100 people will not be allowed.

The cycling body recommended a postponement of events to later in the year.

Regarding the travel bans, communication will follow with regards to the status of Tour of Limpopo, to which international teams have been invited.

Cycling SA has also withdrawn the participation of any national team in any local or international event until the end of April.
