This year’s Giro d’Italia, which was scheduled to take place from May 9 to 31, has been postponed due to the coronavirus, RCS Sport announced today.
In response to the spread of the virus, the Hungarian government has declared a state of emergency. This means the Giro’s start cannot occur in Hungary as planned.
The organisation stated that all parties had agreed that they are determined to work together to enable the Giro to depart from Hungary at a later date.
The new date will be announced no earlier than April 3.
