Brendan van Eeden followed up his victory in Saturday’s Karkloof Classic with another storming ride to win the Gooderson Drakensberg Gardens Classic Challenge in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday.
The Absolute Motion rider finished the 40km mountain bike event in 1:50:05 to beat Stuart Marais (NanoTime) by 22 seconds. Andrew Hill (TIB Insurance) placed third in 1:51:26.
Christie-Leigh Hearder won the women’s event in 2:23:11. Sanchia Malan and Michele Roods placed second and third respectively.
Marais and Hearder were crowned the men’s and women’s winners of the ROAG Series.
