Donovan O’Reilly won the men’s race at the Grahamstown 2 Sea mountain bike event that finished in Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape yesterday.
The 47-year-old completed the 58km ride in 1:50:02 to beat the in-form defending champion, Jason Peach, by 13 seconds. Sarel van Staden completed the podium in 1:50:19.
Kelsey van Schoor claimed a comfortable victory in the women’s section, crossing the line in 1:57:30. Lauren Coleman placed second with last year’s winner, Lauren Smith, in third.
