Nico Bell and Kim le Court won the 68km men’s and women’s races at the Tour de Farm mountain bike event in Middelburg yesterday.
Bell, who rides for NanoTime, crossed the line in 2:01:21, beating Andreas Kuhn and ProTouch’s Gustav Basson in the dash to the line.
Demacon’s Le Court stopped the clock in 2:06:02 to secure a comfortable victory in the women’s event ahead of Samantha Sanders and Adele Senekal.
Jean du Plessis won the men’s 35km race by a comfortable margin ahead of Gert Peens with Jean Coetzee in third.
Wilmarie du Plessis, who finished third in last year’s women’s race, beat defending champion Bernice van Wyk by more than a minute to take the win. Luzaan Durand rounded out the podium.
