Jan-Hendrik Theron and Amelia Perold won the men’s and women’s sections at the To Hell and Back mountain bike race on the outskirts of Oudtshoorn today.
Theron completed the two-day race in 6:09:55 to stand on the top step of the podium ahead of Francois Bosman and Regis Maniora.
Pieter van der Merwe and Jacques du Plessis finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Perold (10:49:44) won ahead of Janine Wencke and Riana Noort.
On Saturday, stage one took riders over a distance of 66km from the De Hoek resort just outside Oudtshoorn to Gamkaskloof – also known as The Hell. Stage two took the competitors in the opposite direction on the same route.
