Callum Ormiston won the inaugural Smurfy500 Gran Fondo in Zwavelpoort, Pretoria, on Saturday.
Ormiston, who rides for ProTouch, completed the 500km race in 14:59:43 to beat Jaco Ferreira (15:03:29) and Gerhardus Fouche (15:23:29) into second and third respectively.
Francois Ebersohn won the 250km men’s event ahead of Cloete Murray and Andre Gibhard.
The 250km women’s title went to Juanita Venter, with Annerie van Velden and Vanessa Bell completing the podium.
