UCI Women’s WorldTour team, Liv Racing, has confirmed the addition of top South African mountain biker Sarah Hill to its off-road roster for the 2021 season.
Johannesburg-based Hill has been a top performer on the South African mountain biking scene in recent years.
In November 2020 Hill won her maiden solo stage race at the three-day Sabie Xperience event, edging her regular partner, Theresa Ralph, into second place.
At the 2019 Cape Epic, Hill and Ralph finished as the top all-African women’s team, picking up the coveted African women’s jersey for their efforts.
In addition to several other victories, the Hill-Ralph combination also triumphed in both the 2018 and 2019 editions of the joBerg2c race.
Despite the cycling scene suffering from Covid-19 disruptions in recent months, Hill still managed to win both the Midvaal 100 Miler and the inaugural Joburg Classic road race in 2020.
“Liv is a brand that is 100% dedicated to woman,” said Hill of the company which is dedicated to not only getting more women on bicycles, but to providing more opportunities and greater equity for women in professional cycling.
She will form part of the off-road team at Liv Factory Racing.
Her teammates will be Switzerland’s Linda Indergand and Americans Kaysee Armstrong and Isabella Naughton, among others.
