South Africa’s Byron Munton faces an enforced break from his bike after having his appendix removed.
The 22-year-old confirmed on his Instagram account that he underwent an emergency appendectomy earlier in the week, but hoped to be discharged today.
“On Tuesday I was sent to the emergency room to get my appendix removed!
“I have since then slept a lot and been quite hungry as prior to today’s lunch my last meal was Tuesday morning.
