Ireland’s Sam Bennett continued his early season winning form with victory on stage one of the 79th edition of Paris-Nice around Saint-Cyr-L’École today.
The 30-year-old reigning Tour de France green jersey winner, picked up two stages wins in February’s UAE Tour.
It was a fourth stage win on this race for Bennett as he surged past 2019 world champion Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) while Arnaud Demare (Groupama-FDJ) came third after his lead out man fell during the run-in.
