Matt Beers’ impressive start to the 2021 season continued with victory in the fourth round of the Pursuit Challenge in the Cape Winelands.
The Knysna-born, 27-year-old entered the race on the back of victory in the PE Plett event and duly put his rivals to the sword in the two-day race that concluded at the Hey Joe Brewery in Franschhoek on Friday.
The opening day took place at the Doolhof Wine Estate in Wellington.
Beers took the race by the scruff of the neck on day one, finishing 53 seconds ahead of Marco Joubert with Gert Heyns a further 2:40 back in third place.
