Ryan Gibbons may yet defend his SA national road race title later this month.
However, the final decision as to his participation will lie with his UAE Team Emirates bosses.
This year’s nationals are scheduled to take place in Swellendam from March 18 to 21.
Gibbons, who is coming off a stellar all-round performance at the African Continental Road Championships in Cairo, Egypt, is however due to take part in De Panne with the Belgium one-day race set to take place on March 24.
