The 2021 SA Downhill Championships took place at Paarl Mountain in the Western Cape over the weekend with as many as 142 riders taking to the start.
When all was said and done Theo Erlangsen posted the quickest time of 1:42:480, becoming a three-time national champion in the process.
The 25-year-old Capetonian was a narrow 0.95-second winner over Johann Potgieter with Stefan Garlicki in third (1:44:747).
The top junior performance was recorded by Ike Klaassen who finished an impressive fifth overall in 1:46:618.
In the women’s division Frankie du Toit took the honours (2:07:319) ahead of Beani Thies (2:08:628) with Gina Nixon (2:11:746) who competed in the veteran’s category, finishing third.
