The absence of defending elite women’s individual time-trial and road race champion Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio has thrown the field wide open at this week’s SA National Road Championships.
The championships will take place in Swellendam from March 18 to 21.
European commitments with her Netherlands-based UCI Women’s WorldTour team SD Worx have ruled the 11-time national champion out of the equation, opening the door for a new winner to be crowned.
A field of 16 elite women will start the time-trial over 30km on Friday, March 19.
