Namibia-born Marc Pritzen crossed the line first in the combined elite and U23 men’s road race at the SA National Road Championships in Swellendam today.
Still U23, Pritzen, who rides for the Qhubeka Assos Continental team, finished in a time of 4:51:43 for the 178km route.
Willie Smit took second three seconds behind with Nicolas Dlamini in third, a further four seconds adrift.
In addition to winning the elite road race title, Pritzen completed the U23 “double” having triumphed in Friday’s individual time-trial.
Travis Barrett took second in the U23 race with Travis Stedman in third.
