Candice Lill confirmed that she is currently without peer on the South African mountain biking scene with victory in the second round of the SA XCO Cup at Thaba Trails in Johannesburg today.
Lill, who triumphed at the opening round at Summerplace Farm in Limpopo earlier in the month, completed the six-lap race in a time of 1:34:46, finishing nearly 11 minutes ahead of Sarah Hill with Danielle Strydom in third.
Karla Stumpf took fourth.
It’s been a memorable season to date for the 29-year-old Lill, who, in addition to victory in the Pursuit Challenge #4 in Franschhoek, showed her versatility in winning the individual time-trial title at the recent SA National Road Championships in Swellendam.
