Denmark’s Kasper Asgreen won a thrilling 2021 edition of the E3 Saxo Bank Classic one-day race today.
The 26-year-old Deceuninck-Quick-Step rider broke away with 60km remaining and went solo with 12km to go to win ahead of teammate Florian Senechal.
Mathieu van der Poel took third.
Asgreen won Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne last year and now has another major win in Belgium giving his team a major boost ahead of Gent-Wevelgem and Flanders.
