Germany’s Lennard Kamna broke away with 7km remaining to win stage five of the Volta a Catalunya today.
The Bora-Hansgrohe climber finished 39 seconds ahead of Portugal’s Ruben Guerreiro with Mikel Bizkarra in third three seconds further adrift.
Race leader Adam Yates finished safely in the peloton to retain his 45-second lead over Ineos teammate Richie Porte with a third team member Geraint Thomas in third place.
