A four race criterium series was part of the GoWest festival on the Westrand of Johannesburg where the country’s top professionals took to the streets for some action packed racing.

The final points standings resulted in a tie between Nolan Hoffman (Abantu) and Calvin Beneke (EuropecarSA) both on 18 points but a split decision based on race wins saw Hoffman seal the series for his squad.
Clint Hendricks (Bonitas) finished third overall with the African Champion Tesfom Issak (MTN Feeder) in fourth.
Criteriums are circuit races held in the CBD’s which provide a platform for the sport of cycling to be showcased to the people. The races ranged between 80-100km long sometimes covering over 100 laps on a 950m circuit and finishing under street lights as the sun set into the evenings.
