Matt Beers and Alan Hatherly added a fourth stage victory to their Cape Pioneer Trek campaign while Sabine Spitz and Robyn de Groot secured their first today.
Beers and Hatherly continued to dominate in George, extending their overall lead over NAD Pro’s Gawie Combrinck and Nico Bell, who lie second overall after narrowly losing to the Spur RedE team today. Bram Rood and Gerben Mos finished third today and are in the same position in the general classification.
Spitz and De Groot were able to change things up in the women’s race as they denied Ariane Luthi and Amy McDougall, who finished second, a fourth consecutive victory. Frankie du Toit and Nicky Giliomee took their fourth third place finish of the event.
A win by Joel Stransky and Yolande de Villiers saw the team move up into third on the GC, behind leaders Charles McFall and Carmen Buchacher. Karen Brouwer and Ramses Ramses Bekkenk are second in the mixed category.
