Team Spur RedE’s Matt Beers and Alan Hatherly made it three in a row at the Cape Pioneer Trek that finished after 99km at Van Kervel High School in George today.

They took the stage win ahead of NAD Pro MTB’s Nico Bell and Gawie Combrinck in 3:58:17, with KMC FruittoGo Mountainbiketeam’s Bram Rood and Gerben Mos rounding out the podium in 3:59:44.
Ascendis Health’s Sabine Spitz and Robyn de Groot took the win over Spur Valencia’s Ariane Luthi and Amy McDougall in the women’s race today, in a time of 4:22:33.
The mixed category went to Velocity Sports Lab’s Charles McFall and Carmen Buchacher in 4:20:45. KMC fruit to go’s Karen Brouwer and Ramses Bekkenk claimed second, while Barnards’ Kobus Barnard and Fienie Barnard finished in third.
Tiaan Swart and Rentia Denissen took the win in their respective solo categories.
Today’s stage was arguably the second hardest stage with 2 000m of climbing. It included jeep and singletrack that traversed the foothills of the mountain.
