Cyclists of varying levels, ages and teams, gathered in Windhoek, Namibia, where they set off for the 24-hour 369km Desert Dash endurance race, which ended at the country’s desert seaside town of Swakopmund on Saturday.
Riders endured and struggled through changing landscapes along a descent from altitude down to the coast.
The race saw Swiss-born Konny Looser win the overall men’s solo category for the third consecutive year, in a time of 13:55:29. German Rebecca Robisch won the women’s solo category in 16:09:14.
