Elfriede Wolfaardt, who was vying for victory in the longer distances at the Paarl Boxing Day, achieved first place in the women’s 1500m at the event, held at the Faure Street Stadium today.

Wolfaardt finished the mile distance in 127.78 seconds. Magdalene Nicholson, who won the women’s 800m, came second. She was followed by Heloize Visser who rounded out the podium.
