Bradley Potgieter and Kristen Louw won the 70km Summer Fast One MTB race which took place in Johannesburg today.
Potgieter, who was just named in the Cycling SA national side to compete in the Sharjah Tour later in the month, won the race in 2:23:59.
He was followed home minutes later by Kyle Brummer in second and Pieter Viljoen to complete the podium.
Pierre Smith, who targeted a place on the podium before the race, just missed out after finishing fourth.

Louw, who had aimed to challenge the men before the race, retained her Summer Fast One title to top the podium in 2:44:02. She was followed just seconds later by Ronel van Straaten in second. Karien Alberts rounded out the podium.
Boela van Staden won the men’s 40km race, followed closely by Aaron Heyneke and Stuart Biesheuvel in second and third respectively.
The women’s race was won by Mariske Mclean and she was followed by Natalie Long in second. Deane Zambetti finished in third.
