joBerg2c results & GC: Combrinck, Bell ride to victory on stage five

Gawie Combrinck and Nico Bell continued their dominant performance in the joBerg2c mountain bike tour by bagging another stage win on day five at Clifton today.

The NAD Pro overall leaders finished the 122km stage in a time of 3:32:07. Second were Silverback-Best4Sports-Mad Macs’ Shaun-Nick Bester and Declan Sidey, who finished two minutes later.

Insect Science’s Alan Gordon and Timothy Hammond completed the podium and claimed a time of 3:35:09.

Combrinck and Bell continue to lead overall with a time of 18:39:31, Gordon and Hammond are second overall in 18:59:34, with Bester and Sidey third in 19:01:50.

The women’s race was won by Galileo Risk’s Theresa Ralph and Sarah Hill in 4:20:47. The pair are also in the overall lead. Nix and Del’s Adele Ambrose and Lauren Walker are second, with Vye Ladies’ Miriam Stronkhorst and Wendy Potgieter in third.

The mixed team race was won by dormakaba Mixed’s Amy McDougall and Arno du Toit, who also lead overall, in a time of 3:48:44. Team Summit’s Darren and Candice Lill finished second in 3:52:34.

Matthys Beukes won the solo men category again when he finished first after 3:32:08. Phillimon Sebona placed second in 3:41:20 and Tobias Flath claimed third in 3:52:30.
