Bora-Hansgrohe’s Sam Bennett won the 21st and final stage of the Giro d’Italia in Rome today, as Team Sky’s Chris Froome clinched the race title.
The Irishman sprinted to victory in 2:50:49, beating Quick-Step Floors’ Elia Viviani (Italy) and BMC Racing’s Jean-Pierre Drucker (Luxembourg) into second and third respectively.

With the final stage having no influence on the general classification, Froome won the Grand Tour with a GC time of 86:11:50, 46 seconds clear of Team Sunweb’s Tom Dumoulin (Netherlands). Astana Pro’s Miguel Angel Lopez (Colombia) rounded out the podium.
