Switzerland’s Nino Schurter won the elite men’s UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic, today.
The world champion Schurter completed the six-lap race in 1:21:31, pipping New Zealander Anton Cooper in a sprint finish. Frenchman Maxime Marotte rounded out the podium eight seconds later.

New Zealander Sam Gaze, who won the Stellenbosch world cup in March, as well as the short circuit yesterday, withdrew from the race in the first lap.
South African Jan Withaar finished 114th.
