NAD Pro’s Gawie Combrinck won the 126km second stage of the Lowveld Tour in Limpopo today.
Combrinck completed the race in 3:17:24, beating his teammate Matt Beers and BCX’s Marc Pritzen into second and third respectively.

Early on in the race – approximately 20km in – Bradley Potgieter, Andries Nigrini and Reynard Butler broke away and created a 35-second lead.
With just about 20km later, the trio had extended their lead to one-and-a-half minutes. At the halfway mark the trio were reeled back and a new six-man lead group formed comprising Pritzen, Beers, Combrinck, Chris Jooste, Wessel Botha and Dylan Girdlestone.
Nico Bell, David Maree, Reynard Butler and Qhawe Mdluli were trailing by 20 seconds and giving chase.
The six at the front extended their lead to over three minutes by the 100km mark. With several kilometres to go Combrinck attacked off the front to take the spoils at the end.
Beers took the race lead ahead of the third day tomorrow.
