Berg and Bush ‘Descent’ results & GC: Beukes, Buys snatch race victory

October 7, 2018, 10:56 am By In the Bunch

Matthys Beukes and Philip Buys won the 48km third and final stage and with it the Berg and Bush ‘Descent’ title when the race concluded in Emseni, KwaZulu-Natal, today.

The PYGA Euro Steel pair trailled NAD Pro’s Matt Beers and Nico Bell by just three seconds on the general classification standings before the stage, but managed to leapfrog them into first, winning by just less than a minute in the end.

Beukes and Buys completed the stage in 1:45:14, finishing 50 seconds faster than Beers and Bell. NAD Pro’s second team Wessel Botha and Gawie Combrinck, however, completed the podium in both the final stage and overall standings.
