Stijn Appel and Laura Stark won the respective men’s and women’s races at the Porcupine Ridge MTB Challenge in Franschhoek today.
Appel finished the 54km course in a time of 2:38:48, with Roy Beukers in second and Antonin Marecaille third.

Stark won the women’s race in 3:02:02. Second place went to Louise Bezuidenhout, while Louise Ferreira placed third.
The event, which was hosted by Bridge House School and celebrated its 20th anniversary, also consisted of a 36km and 12km route.
Riders enjoyed mountain-bike trails in and around the Berg River Dam with views of the Franschhoek mountains.
