Andre Nelson and Anriette Schoeman won the second edition of the Bay by Bike MTB Race in Port Elizabeth today.
In the 60km men’s race, Nelson and Jason Meaton opened a gap on the rest of the field 25km into the race.

The women’s event saw the same situation as Schoeman, who defended her title, and Kelsey van Schoor opened a large gap on the chasing riders.
With 30km to the finish, the respective winners left their rivals behind on some steep climbs in the Hopewell Estate.
They left the estate solo with 20km to go and successfully stayed away to the finish.
Caylem Essen and Candy Boonzaaier won the 30km men’s and women’s race.
