Andrew Hill and Tyronne White crossed the finish line together in the solo men’s race at the Scottburgh MTB Classic on the town’s main beach today.
The duo completed the 45km race in 1:42:39, seven minutes ahead of Brad Thompson.
“That’s proper mountain biking,” said Hill, who recently won the Wild Ride mountain bike event.
“There wasn’t any difference between us on the bike out there today, so we reached a gentleman’s agreement that we would finish together.
“It shows sportsmanship and I hope it sets an example to the younger mountain bikers.”
The women’s title went to Hayley Smith, with Christie-Leigh Hearder second and Natascka Mowat third.
