Samantha Sanders defended her title in the women’s 60km Wildevy Mountain Bike Race in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, today.
She finished in 2:24:34, beating Bernice van Wyk (2:31:39) and Simone van Wyk (2:51:43) to the finish.
The men’s victory went to Christo Carelsen (2:15:28) ahead of Gawie Combrinck (2:17:17) and Reinhart Viljoen (2:19:54).
Christi van Wyk won the 25km women’s race in 1:24:10. She was followed by Jolize Botha (1:25:25) and Shirley Emmerick (1:25:35).
The men’s event saw Daniel Knoesen (1:03:25) secure the victory. Estohan Swanepoel (1:04:47) took second while James Floyd (1:04:55) rounded out the podium.
