“I’m with the physio in the gym on Mondays and Wednesdays,” said the 23-year-old, who underwent surgery on a broken right upper femur following the crash.
“She’s helping me do specific training with my right leg to try and get as strong as possible.
“I’m just training and trying every week to increase on-the-bike strength with training.”
Basson said the training was harder than expected but that he was doing okay.
“There’s still a good, long road to recovery and a mountain of work to do. I’m happy with the progress so far though.”
He said he was grateful for all the support he had received throughout this testing time.
“I wish there was a way I could show my gratitude and how much I appreciate it.
“It means a lot to me,” said the TEG Procycling rider.
