A tribute ride has been planned in honour of Frans Duys and Janine Hopkins, who died after being struck by a taxi while riding tandem in Isando early on Saturday.
The 40km ride will take place on Saturday, December 7, with riders leaving at 5.30am from the old Tour de Frans premises in Atlas Road, Boksburg.
Duys was the owner of this cycling shop.
There will also be a funeral service on Friday at 10am at the Northfield Methodist Church in Benoni.
When the accident happened Hopkins was declared dead on the scene, while Duys was treated by paramedics on the scene for serious injuries, but died shortly afterwards.
The taxi driver allegedly raced through a red traffic light.
