The Cape Town-based rider, who won the SA National Road champs U23 ITT, has competed in the event a few times before but has yet to come home with a win.
However, he says it is one of the SA races he most looks forward to.
“For myself and the team it is one event we put more pressure on ourselves to perform in,” Munton told In the Bunch.
“I think everyone from all levels in the cycling scene should put this event as a must-do for the future.”
The 21-year-old says one of the main issues to consider will be the wind.
“You also need to make sure you are in the right position at defining points of the race.
“Our team has a few options on race day so we can make the most of a situation that plays out on the day.
“I wouldn’t say the route suits me too well, but I still find it good to do.”
