Ben Melt Swanepoel was the solo men’s winner in the second edition of the Ride The Karoo 100-miler, which was held in the Sneeuberg region near Middelburg today.

Swanepoel finished the 160km course in 6:02:01. Second was Vickus Boshoff in 6:17:22, with Rassie Smit third (6:27:53).
The women’s solo event was won by Yolandi du Toit. She finished in a time of 7:05:09, more than nine minutes ahead of Lizanne van der Merwe. Third was Aryna Edwards (8:05:00).
The winners of the men’s team race were Denzyl O’Donoghue and Pieter du Preez. Gerhard and Junita Kruger won the mixed team race, while Tanja Schutte and Iliska Verwey won the women’s team race.
In the 80km event James Conyers won the solo men’s race while Izemari Swart was the solo women’s winner.
