The Tour of Oman, scheduled for this week, has been cancelled due to the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said on January 10, it was announced on the event’s social media platforms.
The statement said “following the passing of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the 11th edition of the Tour of Oman has been cancelled.
“See you all in 2021 for the next edition.”
The six-stage international road race was due to take place from tomorrow until Sunday.
The iconic Green Mountain climb would have featured for the 10th consecutive time this year.
