The Customized Cycling rider, who won last year’s edition, edged out Frances Janse van Rensburg to defend her title. Hayley Preen, the winner of The Herald Cycle Tour, completed the podium.
Candice Lill and Kelsey van Schoor placed fourth and fifth respectively.
“Every win at the Cycle Tour is special but this was a tough one.
“My legs were cramping during the sprint. It was a long sprint into a headwind and I must have kicked five times in the final 500m,” said Willeit.
