Clinton Mackintosh secured victory in the main event of The Hills Challenge mountain bike race in Montagu in the Western Cape yesterday.
He completed the 65km race in 3:03:13 to beat Hermias Vollgraaff by four seconds. Gideon van der Berg completed the podium.
Marietjie Luts, who finished in 4:14:32, was the first woman to cross the line. She was followed home by Stephanie Kok and Karen Bosman.
Thomas Hudson and Angelique Coetzer won the men’s and women’s sections respectively in the 48km race.
