Philip Buys soloed to victory at the Trailseeker Legends MX marathon mountain bike race on the outskirts of Pretoria this morning.
The Pyga-Euro Steel rider, who placed fourth in last month’s Trailseeker Series events at Sondela and Cullinan, popped a wheelie over the line of the 70km event, which he completed in 2:42:17.
Jan Withaar finished two minutes behind to claim second with Buys’ teammate Pieter du Toit completed the podium.
Amy McDougall (Dormakaba) won the women’s event in 3:12:04, soloing to an eight-minute victory ahead of teammate Robyn de Groot. Sarah Hill (Galileo Risk-Infiniti) rounded out the podium.
